Internship at L&S – a look into special machinery manufacturing

Your benefits during your L&S internship

An internship at L&S is not about dully passing the time. We take you seriously from day one and show you how modern special machinery manufacturing works in practice.

01

Real hands-on work instead of just watching

With us, you don't just watch your colleagues over their shoulders. Under safe guidance, you get to pick up tools yourself, inspect components or understand circuits.

02

Find your dream profession

Not sure yet whether mechanics, electronics or warehouse logistics suits you best? During the internship you get to know all three areas and can then decide more easily what comes next.

03

A good start towards an apprenticeship

A good internship is a real plus for a subsequent apprenticeship with us. If we are a good fit, we are happy to talk about an apprenticeship place at L&S.

04

Day shift only (no weekends)

Your working hours during the internship are regular: you work the day shift and have the weekend off.

05

Well looked after all round

You are a fully-fledged part of the team. During breaks, free hot drinks and water are available to you in our break room.

What you can try out with us

3 areas – one internship. You get to know them all.

During the internship you get a taste of all three areas of our production – no need to decide in advance.

3areas – mechanics & assembly, electronics & industrial engineering and warehouse logistics. You get an impression of all of them.
01

Mechanical area (metalworking & assembly)

You learn how to read technical drawings, work on metal yourself and see how assemblies weighing several tonnes are put together for our special machines.

02

Electronics area (operations technology & IT)

You take a look at how highly complex control cabinets are wired, how electrical measurements are carried out and how hardware and software interact in mechanical engineering.

03

Warehouse logistics (goods receipt & storage)

You see how materials and components are received, checked, stored and made ready for production – without the warehouse, assembly comes to a standstill.

What you should bring

No prior knowledge needed – just curiosity and a desire for real hands-on experience

Pupil or school leaver

You are still at school (Hauptschule, Realschule, Gymnasium) or have just finished school and are looking for orientation – you are exactly right.

Interest in technology

You are interested in technology, big machines, electronics or manual work.

Curiosity & team spirit

You are curious, keen to ask questions and to contribute reliably as part of a team – that counts more than grades with us.

Punctuality & reliability

Punctuality and reliability go without saying for you – so that you and the team benefit from each other to the fullest.

Your internship as a stepping stone

Many of our apprentices did an internship with us first. The fastest route to an apprenticeship often runs through our production hall.

Frequently asked questions about the internship

How long does an internship at L&S last?

That depends entirely on you and your school! Typical school internships usually last 1 to 2 weeks. A voluntary orientation internship can be arranged flexibly with us. If you want to earn money during the holidays, you can do holiday work with us from the age of 15.

What should I wear for the internship?

For the production areas you need sturdy, closed shoes and hard-wearing clothing. We provide the special safety equipment (high-visibility vests, ear protection) free of charge on site, of course.

Can I do an internship even if I'm considering university?

Yes, absolutely! Especially for prospective students of electrical engineering or mechanical engineering, an orientation internship with us offers a good opportunity to get to know real-world practice before heading into the lecture hall.
